Took theses the past few nights, let me know what you think. Taken with 1DMIIN-100-400L and 1.4X. Mirror lock-up, tri-pod and all. :)

ISO 100, F/8, 1/320th.......taken last night, 100% full

ISO 400, F/11, =1/125th........taken two nights ago, I wanted to get it as it was setting (around 4:45am). I underestimated how fast it was moving, hence the tree partially in the way at the lower right corner

another version, the color comes from the smog or fog or clouds at the horizon

I went back and read all your comments in the 300/2.8 thread about the 100-400. I'm a sucker for abuse :p

Nice image.
My question is about the moon's orientation that for me also leaving in South Cali, is rather turned. Was your camera leveled?

Thank you, my camera was level. The moon was taken in the western sky late at night, maybe thats causing the different orientation

The moons orientation changes through the night quite dramatically.

Here are a couple from the past with vastly different orientations :)

OK got inspired. Just got this one form tonight near midnight.
This is the common orientation I land with. May be it because mine are mostly from high sky moon rather than Western sky.
