two layers. top one black and white then rub out what you want to be colour. that was just a test to see what it looked like so there are a few flaws in it.

Are you erasing or using a layer mask?

Take a look at this thread for how to use a Layer Mask to selectivly lighten/darken part of a pic. It's easily reversible: Airport runway shoot

bit overdone for my taste, but not the worst corsa ive seen. those are some good shots, good colours/exposure/every​thing else.
