A quick random selection of dooberries from the weekend.

Some jolly hockey sticks for starters..

Strewth Mr Ellis!:D

Fantastic, loving the back and side lighting too - haven't looked at the exif data, however assuming you were shooting in manual you can definitely see the benefits of using a handheld meter!!

And the challenge looks fair to me on that keeper. Don't tell me he complained to the ref!? ;) :)

Ah Gmen, the quality of your work never ceases to amaze! (And football's a man's game - that challenge looks ok to me!)

Cheers Paul. Funnily enough I forgot to pack my meter on Saturday... so, yep all in manual, and used the grass/astroturf as the basis for the settings.

Hope your weekend's shooting went well.

Forgot to pack the meter? That sounds like something that I would do!

I assume that you treated the grass as a grey card and went from there? Or was there some jiggery pokery going on before dialling the setting in?

Weekend's shooting was interesting - hockey went well, light was good too and it was a fantastic game!

Rugby was a nightmare - no light and the team I was covering got played off the park! Still, part of the learning process and had to go hunting for pics! Did manage to get a few "stock" type pictures though for future reference.

Editor was pleased with the photos and wants to use 3 of them on Friday I think. So all in all a good result.

Anyway, great pics (again!)!!

Phew, you mean that surgery on the keeper was LEGAL? Lovely, lovely images, particularly those hockey shots!

Many thanks Kenny! And, yep, it's a man's game alright... especially when Brentwood Town clash with Romford

Ha, that keeper shot had me laughing. Poor bugger. He's clearly not impressed in the next photo.

Great work, Gavin. The expression of concentration on the face of the goalie in the air is excellent!
(Or maybe he's thinking, "This is going to hurt?") ;)
