Information is placed inside documents and files that can be used to protect your work or to violate your privacy.

Often it is in the usefull form of metadata or exlf data that we can easily use for our own bennifit. Although it can contain personal data it is hardly considered an abuse of privicy.

Other times the personal data is encrypted and hidden so that only the persons with the decoder or who know where to look can access the data. Usually this does not include the creator of the document, file, or print. In this case the chances of abuse are greater since the owner of the document has no knowledge of what or how much personal data is being given out and has no way of controlling or correcting it.

Here are some examples....

Every time you save an MS word document, Microsoft hides information inside it that can be used to protect your work or to violate your privacy.

These are just a couple of features that have been around for some time now.

Have you ever tried to load or print a photo with some type of US currency in Adobe photoshop? or Paint shop Pro? Can't do it...

Maybe Canon will be able to incorporate some of these great features in future models?

I turn my mobile (cell) phone off every hour so that the government can't track me. Now if only I could get rid of the micro chip the aliens put in my neck......

Sorry, you have been tracked. I work in the phone industry and mobiles are about the easiest things to track we have today. In fact, mobile users insist on it. There is a flood of new features revolving around emergency services (911) which will locate a particular phone within meters. Also, on or off makes no difference.

Now, if you remove the battery, wrap your head in foil, you might have a chance.

Lets face it guys, George Orwell nailed it years ago and it is upon us today. With the technology we already have in place it is very difficult to remain invisible especially for law abiding citizens. Nearly everything you do, everything you buy, and everywhere you go, can and to some extent is be tracked. All it take now is a small group hell bent on domination to acquire that data and put it to evil use.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Only if we can succesfuly sell enough tin foil hats to everyone to stop it happening.
But thats going to mean lots of work, we will need a very detailed and targeted marketing plan, with a well resurched advertising compaign.
Seperating out our target audiances is going to be tricking, and direct marketing to them will require intimate knowledge of all thier personal behaviours.
But its vital that we get these tin foil hats into the market, people don't realise the need for them, so we have to create one.
Im thinking something along emotive lines, make people believe that by wearing a tin foil hat they will look better, run faster, and be more attractive.
We can use special models to target small niche markets, Im thinking lots of shiny fake gems to get into the hip hop market segment, while painting them white with a red ring around the top will appeal to photographers.
