Only if we can succesfuly sell enough tin foil hats to everyone to stop it happening.

I wouldn't be so sure.... http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/ (external link)

Conclusion
The helmets amplify frequency bands that coincide with those allocated to the US government between 1.2 Ghz and 1.4 Ghz. According to the FCC, These bands are supposedly reserved for ''radio location'' (ie, GPS), and other communications with satellites (see, for example, [3]). The 2.6 Ghz band coincides with mobile phone technology. Though not affiliated by government, these bands are at the hands of multinational corporations.

It requires no stretch of the imagination to conclude that the current helmet craze is likely to have been propagated by the Government, possibly with the involvement of the FCC. We hope this report will encourage the paranoid community to develop improved helmet designs to avoid falling prey to these shortcomings.

Tin Foil hats? Contrary to popular belief, tin foil isn't very protective against alien rays. You have to use lead - which is quite heavy - or yellow kryptonite - which is much lighter but very expensive. Lead is fine for landscape shooter, but for action or sports shooters I'd definitely recommend the lighter yellow kryptonite. And don't let the double-vision scare you - it's just your eyes - your photos will be fine.

Sorry, you have been tracked. I work in the phone industry and mobiles are about the easiest things to track we have today. In fact, mobile users insist on it. There is a flood of new features revolving around emergency services (911) which will locate a particular phone within meters. Also, on or off makes no difference.

And in Atlanta, GA they are using the data to produce traffic reports:

http:http://www.usatoday.com/tech/wireless/phones/2006-11-06-tracking-traffic_x.htm// (external link)

Two companies propose to use the movement data from cell phones to detect traffic jams.

Have Fun,

Rick

But thats going to mean lots of work, we will need a very detailed and targeted marketing plan, with a well resurched advertising compaign.

I am starting another thread with detailed instructions for the do-it-yourselfer so that one can build your own aluminum foil hat thus gaining maximum protection with minimum cost and circumventing the evil-doers. :)

Seriously, today, nothing, but imagine if some yahoo in the future decided that folks who take pictures with long telephoto lenses are subversives capable of photographing military installations. So scouring the web looking for pictures taken with long lenses, identifying the camera used, crosschecking with warranty info and getting the name and address. Well, off you go because your a spy. Sounds far fetched? It's happened before. My grandfather was arrested and murdered because he owned a truck. At that time (WWII), the folks in power (Stalin's boyz) considered any truck a military vehicle. I am nervous anytime data is collected without the knowledge of those its being collected from.

This is not true and it all depends in the alien. If they are the bad guys from Krypton then this course is the proper one to follow. But for them critters alergic to water, foil seemed to work well.

I know they can't track me. I wrap a wet towel around my head :D

Seriously, tracking mobile phones is the easiest way to catch crooks these days. All you need do is estimate when a burglary took place and check which mobile phones were in the area at that time. This does not work though if you switch them off or remove the battery,

Wrapping a towel around your head might attract other attention though. I know it worked for Arnie, but he wasn’t trying to escape from aliens. Don’t be fooled by what you see on TV. USE THE FOIL!!!:) :)

Seriously, check you manual. Pretty much every new mobile (last 3 years) comes with a position location chip (GPS) and thus never fully powers down. The only way to insure that you are invisible, at least from a mobile phone is to remove the battery.

If that's the case then that puts the manufacturers at odds with FAA regulations.
