CP for sigma 10-22

I have a sigma 10-22 that I want to get a CP for. Is there are special type of CP or anything I need to consider since this is a wider angle lens?

I purchased a rather pricy CP for my Sigma 10-20mm when I got the lens. Cost me around $170.

I wish I had done more research, or thought about basic physics. CP's work with the angles that light hits the lens. But a ultra wide angle lens lets in light from a HUGE array of angles. CP's don't function well under these conditions.

For example, you may want to get a nice blue even sky. However, due to the fact the light is hitting from such a wide angle, you'll get half a dark blue sky and half a light blue sky (for example).

So I ended up trading the CP for my CompuTrekker and havn't looked back. Aside from some speciality use with reflections, I find its easier to just photoshop a gradient into the sky to make it nice and blue.

Subject to posts from people with the 10-20 Sigma who can name specific filters:
Ultrawide angle lenses are prone to vignetting at the wide end unless you get thin CPs.
A polarizer on ultrawide wil give you different effects across the frame just because it covers such a wide angle. Polarization effect in the sky's strongest at 90 deg from the sun angle and weakest along the sun's incoming angle. A 10-20 covers almost 110 deg., so you'll have a lot of sky that's not very strongly affected along with the most affected parts.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that you may want to look in ND/Graduated filters.
