Had a great day yesterday, covered the Team England first wave of trials. 130 kids from club sides which were trialled with NFL techniques such as bleep tests, catching with hands not chest, blocking, running etc.
You could feel the pressure that these lads were under with quality players making simple mistakes in front of the UK coaching network, funded by the NFL.
This may seem a long way from the NFL in the USA, however, two players who have played in Team England now earn a living in the USA, one on the Cincinnati Bengals squad, the other with the Oakland Raiders. The pro game is very lucerative in Germany as well.
Was a fascinating day. As always my remit was ambience, action within the realms of what happening. In the end I looked at the colours and shapes on display and came away with with some nice work.
Comments welcome.
