It has been so warm in Japan this year that the lavender was still blooming on the lakeside the other day (in the end of October) when I went out shooting! A snow-capped Fuji together with lavender is an unusual sight. Comments welcome as usual.

Lavender is my favourite scent - reminds me of home (the UK). This is a stunning photo.

The clouds at the base of Mt. Fuji make it look like its almost hovering in mid-air. Almost dream like.

Great photo!

Great shot, it has an almost dream like feel to it with Fuji appearing to hover over the landscape. Nice work, it is quite a trek to the top.

nice location, and good idea. The foreground seems a little too busy, though.

You're right. Could you lend me your power hedge cutters?

Sorry, I don't own any. But you could borrow a pair of shoes if you like. ;) . The image is nice by the way.

Lovely Craig, and with the way that you've caught Fuji in the mist, I would be tempted to crop a lot of the lavendar away so as to concentrate on Fuji itself.

Very nice shot, but I think I would crop about an inch off the bottom....too busy and distracts from the mountain.

I'll be honest Craig. The first time I looked at this image, I was ready to close down the window.
"too much haze, not enough detail" I thought.
But I looked at it again, and now I'm very impressed. There's a lot of subtlely going on here and Fuji's hazy appearance only accentuates that.
Great shot.

Thank you for not closing the window on me Adam! This shot actually looks better as a large print than it does on the web, but you can have an idea.
