I can't be the first guy to do this but I didn't see it anywhere else so I thought I'd share.

Could have been done better but you get the idea.

I think take a Tripod, mount your camera so it's very still, take the photo, take the card out, load the image on your computer and set it as your background, and then take the photo again in the exact same spot using your tripod, and repeat as much as you want.

I love it.

But I'd have to have some time on my hands before I did it.

Reminds me of the album cover for Pink Floyd's Ummagumma.

If this were "Highlights for Children" you'd win. But actually there are three Icons moved and one missing. The mouse is in a different position and the little black box is a volume controller.

- Bingo! - I didn't use a tripod though. Just tried to frame it roughly the same. Exposed the image for the screen the used ETTL flash to fill the rest. Kind of an opposite flash theory.

Reminds me of the ol' transparent monitor trick.
http://www.flickr.com …/pool-transparentscreens/ (external link)

I used to do this in real-time back in the Commodore Amiga days, video camera on the monitor which just so happens to be playing the output of the same video camera. Should be able to do this as easily with an ATI Card if you wanted to go further with the concept. At some point the ATI software allowed you to make the video input of the card to be played on the background, behind the icons.
