Well, this is my very first attempt at a landscape shot so please bear with me. I know I underexposed the trees a bit, but if I increased the ISO or apeture i would have blown out the sky. Same goes for f/stop but backwards. Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Any PP I could do to bring the trees out a little more?

Welcome along Buddy, you've come to a great place for info and advice :)

I'm fairly new too but will offer my help :)

Tips and suggestions, for a single shot like this there is just too much difference in the light levels of the sky and foreground.

Do a search on Neutral density Graduate filters, infact there's a thread on them in this section, they help loads.

PP wise, do you shoot Raw format and use photoshop or elements ? If not this tip is useless, if so try loading up two different versions of the converted RAW file, one for the sky and one for the trees/grasses, combine the Sky version over the foreground version and gently use the eraser tool to work in detail in the dark areas from the brighter image in the layer underneath.

I use this technique sometimes when the dark areas of my shots are just a little too strong.

AHA!

I was looking for the thread on NG filters just now, but couldn't remeber the name. Thanks a lot!

And the idea about the two images. I played with the idea of taking two, one to get the proper exposure of each subject, but didnt have a tripod so it would have looked a little funny. I will try shooting in RAW next time though.

Landscapes with a NG filter alwase look to beautiful, i hope they dont cost as much as my camera =\

Hey Discordia here are some GND filters that I bought recently. They have some nice prices too.

Here is one that I did testing the Hitech GND 0.9 Soft.
