:D My Crumpler 7 million dollar home arrived today and boy is it awesome!:D

It's everything I had hoped it would be and so much more. The construction quality is absolutely fantastic. The size is perfect for what I need (30D, a few lenses and a 580EX).

I have read a lot of threads on Domke, Crumpler, etc and finally decided on this one after my head was spinning from all the opinions.

No buyer's remorse here -- I'm very happy with my choice.

OK, let's talk strap. I see that they have that cushion thingy on there; is it comfortable? I mean, say you're bending over to get that thing on the ground (bug, flower, lens cap, etc.) and, due to gravity, the bag swings down... will the strap cut into the neck (as if I have one :) ) Also, what do you think you could fit in the $7m vs. the $6m? Are there plenty of little side pockets for batteries, CF cards, Rocket blower, etc.?

I tend to ramble. Feel free to put me on ignore.

I use a LowePro backpack, which works well, but sometimes I would like the option to put a body and couple lenses in a bag and go. This looks like a great option. Is this a typical color scheme for these, or are there other selections?

The strap is very well padded. Keep in mind it just came 3 hours ago and I have yet to load it. Given my quick tryout, I think the strap is going to be quite comfortable. Way more padding than any bag I've seen.

As for 7m v 6m, I'm no expert. If you look at the crumpler site, it's all about size. The 6 holds 9 liters and the 7 holds 15 liters. Quite a difference.

Not a ton of side pockets, but definitely more than adequate for my needs (exactly the extras you listed)

It does come with lots of configurable dividers, however and I'm sure you can fit whatever you'd like inside. It's very roomy.

According to their site (www.crumplerbags.com (external link)) there are 4 color options: red, light blue, black and the brown I have [which is really more of an olive]. Note of caution about their website: it's crazy!

Okay, does it sound like I work for the company? I don't...this bag is just that nice.

Awesome bag - enjoy!

I don't suppose you have a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS handy? Would love to see what that looked like in a side pocket...

Boy, I sure don't, but if you'd like to ship me one, I'll be happy to put it in there and take a picture for you! ;-)a

That being said, here is a Bigma inside it. As you can see, it fits quite nicely!

Hehehe... Sure, I'll get that right out for ya. :p

Thanks for snapping the picture - I think that's just the size I'm looking for (I have the $6M and love it, but need a touch more room).

I got it from Adorama via Amazon.com for $128.50.

If you check out this link you'll see a better deal:

Don't know about that company, but it might be worth a shot to save the $20.

I'm in the same situation as you (I have a lowepro mini trekker aw.)

You guys think you could get a 30D, sigma 24-70, canon 70-200 F4L, canon G6, 3 compact flash cards and 4-5 NB-2LH batteries in there?

BTW, you think you could send me or link me to a full res shot of the inside so I can get an idea of how much space you really have? I'm also curious about any hidden compartments on the front or anything.

I've often looked at Crumplers online and you're not kidding; their site is "muy loco"

I can't use a messenger bag as due to surgery I can't carry anything on my shoulder or neck. Does this bag perchance have loops on the back through which one could use a waist belt?

Thanks,

I definitely think you could get that gear in there. I'll post a couple more pics in a minute. I got the Bigma, XT w/grip and 75-300 IS on it, Canon 10-22 Ef-S, and the Tamron 28-75 in there. (and of course the POTN strap)

Thanks,

Sorry, I don't see any way to attach it to a belt. No loops like you see on some bags. Bummer.
