At 8 a.m this morning we had received 8 1/2 inches of rain. And it was pouring down rain ALL Day and all this evening. Last time I heard, we had well over 20 inches of rain since Midnight last night.

Flood stage in downtown Mt. Vernon (only a little ways down stream on the Skagit River from me is 36 1/2 feet. They are expecting the river to crest at 41 feet if the rain persists! They are already calling for Sandbaggers to help reinforce the dikes!

Looks like it might get doggone wet around here and we may be evacuated!

Stay safe. I'd thought about trying to get out to get some shots today, but just couldn't convince myself that I wanted to get that wet. Maybe with an underwater housing. ;)

My brother lives in Sumner, and he and his family had the police knocking on their door recommending evacuation about three hours before the official word came down. I live well above the valley floor, so I won't have any problems.
