My case is diferent from you, I live in Spain and I did buy the 300 f/4 L IS at B&H in my last travel to NYC. It was around $1000. The problem is that the Canon USA warranty doesn´t cover the problems that I would have here. So I did buy a "grey market" with the 3 years Canon International warranty that covers me (for just $15 more !!).

Is up to you, but I think that just send a few bucks more to extend the warranty of your L expesive lens is more than worth !! (just 3 beers less in NYC; a lot more here but ....) :p

Cheers
Juan

Nismoser,

I think that a 30$ warranty on a 80$ lens is a bit out of proportion.
Especially considering what that 30$ warranty will cover (or - more to the point - possibly exclude)

Best regards,
Andy

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)

so is it worth buying an extra warranty when getting a new lens specially the expensive ones.
