Greetings, here are some pictures from a tournament at Baja Paintball in Tijuana Mexico. After photographing paintball events all across North America and Europe I thought it might be interesting to shoot an event in Latin America.

This shows the real sprit of paintball in Mexico….I don’t think you would ever see such a thing at a NPPL tournament

Your usual stunning work! So, are there a lot of lady PBers? I am sure there are a lot of beer drinkers! What is the thing that the guy is putting on the wall before picking up his brew?

Thanks Dwight, your kind words are always greatly appreciated. In this form of tournament paintball you need to retrieve the other teams flag and hang it on you side to win. I know this shot looks like it was set up but the beer bottle was really already there so I framed the picture to take advantage of it

Kinda like 'Capture the Flag'? Well, he sure makes that bottle look good in that heavy, hot outfit! Nice touch.

I should get you to take me to one of these tournaments ... I just got the Kata raingear (702 and 704) and I guess this is as good way to use it as any ... although I might shoot from way off to the side with my 400mm f/2.8 or something safe! :-)

These are some great shots but I wonder, where do you position yourself in order not to get his by the paintballs and keep your equipment safe? I've played quite a bit of paintball and there is always black netting around the field to keep the paintballs from hitting the spectators. I don't see this net in your shots so i'm wondering if you're inside of it.

Any time…really I will get you on the field so you can see what my world is like!

If you are a safe distance away you will never be in a position to get a great shot …or be shot at ….like I always say “getting shot to get the shot”

I am inside the net for all my pictures…keep my equipment safe? You must be new to this forum …everyone else is used to my canon camera carnage photos.

I will seriously consider it! I am generally so busy I can't get a nostril above the waterline. Where can I see your schedule for southern California? Can you loan me a kevlar vest and head gear? :-)

My upcoming events is listed on our site

You are welcome at any event …I think you would find it very exciting and fun

I can lend you a mask….I never wear a protective vests because they are too hot

Despite the pictures posted above there is rarely any damage that happens to camera gear, and if you ask any of the other paintball photographers, I am the one who usually get hit anyway. Perhaps this is why I get some many good pictures

OK, if you'll draw their fire I'll blunder around ... I'll have to look at the schedule when I have my PDA and get back to you.

i really love all of your work. each time you post a new thread it makes me sad and want to start playing again! great job! Im about to purchase a 70-2002.8IS so im thinking of keeping the F4L for shooting some local tournaments and stuff for fun. Of all of the paintball photographers, you and Miguel Cruz are by far my 2 favorites!

Top shots! I'm another one who always enjoys your photos. I think it's partly because this isn't really a sport you get the opportunity to shoot over here in Oz.

BTW, is it difficult trying to view the finder through your mask?
