A friend of mine wnats me to take some photos of her to send to her boyfriend/friend that is stationed over in Iraq.

I did a couple of test shots the other night, using my nifty-fifty 1.8 and a 380ex.

She didn't really like them(mostly the expression on her face, i think), other wise, she was happy with them.

I'd like some ideas on how to make them better, thanks!

These are really not that bad. I think the first one would be even better if you would clone out all the lights IMHO. I would suggest taking photos during the day. Early morning or late evening is best.

Her expressin in the 2nd shot does seem a bit overdone, but good shots nonetheless!

I'd be happy to see these if i were her BF, and haven't seen her in a while!!

He hasn't seen her since July, poor fella.

Ironicly, I used to date her, we're better friends than we were boyfriend and girlfriend though.
