I've now spent 3 days reading the "show us yer bag" thread and the excellent cambags.com site - but still can't make up my mind. There's a distinct lack of decent camera shops in my area so can't see many in the flesh either!

Anyway, having discounted the Kata R-102/3 as being too pricey (£130-£150), I'm currently looking at the Tamrac Expedition 5 (£75) and Crumpler Brian's Hot Tub (£85). Looking at my equipment list in the sig below, do you reckon there's enough room in either? I guess I'm more concerned about the height of the 1DMKIIN and whether I can fit the 100-400L in there mounted on the camera. I managed to get a look at the LowePro Mini Trekker a few days back and that didn't look deep enough.

Any suggestions would be greatfully received whilst I re-read cambags.com for the 5th time tonight!

Pete

Its very hard to pick a bag for someone else especially someone you don't know. Until I went searching for a bag for my camera I didn't realise just how personal or expensive an item a camera bag can be.
I found some bargins on www.7dayshop.com (external link) if you find something that interests you decent bags start at £2.99 but then decent to me may be rubbish to you.

Max
There's no such thing as a bad photo, just the wrong audience.
EQUIPMENT: Canon Powershot S3 IS, 2x Transcend 2GB x150 SD, 2x 4GB Class 4 Dane-Elec SDHC, LensMate 52mm Adapter Tube and lots of stuff to hang on it.
A couple of flashes and a couple of strobes. My other camera is a Sony DSC-P200.

I love my Tamrac expedition 7. But I'm not sure with the 5 that it will be deep enough for a 1 series.

Lol - I'm going to have to find a shop with good stock to try a few out :-)

Does anyone know if the Jessops World Camera Centre on Deansgate in Manchester has a decent range for me to view?

I've decided to stop being a tight-**** and have just purchased the Kata R-103. I've wanted one for ages, so I know I wouldn't be happy with anything less!!

I've had the Expedition 5. You shouldn't run into any problems at all fitting all of your gear into it.
