Nathan Holritz of OSP has created a great software program for professional photographers. It just went live today!

Check out the overview here: http://www.photographersoffice.com/ (external link)

I'm so excited to let everyone know that Photographer's Office (external link) has gone live! You can go the website, check out a quick demo of how the application works, and then sign up for a membership!

The initial application for Photographer's Office, the Checklist, was a tool born out of a need we had at our office to better manage our clientele and the products that we were selling them. I think that you will find it incredibly useful in better managing your office workflow!

Our vision with Photographer's Office is to allow photographers to have one place that they can go to manage their daily office tasks. We will continue to add more features and functionality to Photographer's Office in future months as we continue to get feedback from you, the photographer, as to how we can better help you manage all that is involved in running your office! Some of the potential updates include schedule management, an accounting application, additional features added to the current Checklist application including time stamping and due dates.

We will also begin offering consulting services to those photographers who would like to spend some time reviewing their office workflow and streamlining it to work more effectively for them. This will involve an in-person consultation and then implementation of the developed plan, whether that is creating a more effective daily schedule, taking your office paperless, implementing software that will help simplify your business life, helping your organize your home office so that it's easier to manage!

We are looking forward to being able to work with you in the future, helping you better manage your office so that you have the time to truly enjoy your craft as well as your personal life!

A huge shout out to Big Folio (external link) who has helped us make this idea a reality!!! You guys are awesome!!!

It might be nice if the quick time video actually worked.

I'm using QuickTime 6 under windows 98 and I get a message stating that the required compressor could not be found.

I just had a look and the video worked fine for me. I'm not sure about the software though.

The only information on there is the video and it is pretty thin on details. There are some other things on his page which looks like they should be links but they weren't working.

It appears that you can only sign up for this for monthly use which means that your data is hosted offsite from you. I am personally not keen on software that I cannot own and run locally.

It definitely looks interesting and the video was targetted at higher volume wedding photographers. Imo, it is missing some key fundamentals as a total office solution. I do wish him luck.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

My thoughts exactly.

I am willing to both buy and sell prints to other photographers on this forum, for their personal collections only. Price pursuant to my cost of printing.

It looks like the makings of a Basecamp (external link) type application designed for the photography market.

It's obviously very raw and basic in it's function at this stage, and would need much more functionality and value to convince the average pro shooter to sign up.

Looks like something I would definitely use if I had a photography business. By the time I do I bet he will have updated and made improved versions that will be really useful to me.
