Greetings everyone,

I've been lurking here for sometime now, because I have been trying not to purchase the Canon 10D and 20D, cause the ex-gf would not allow me to, so now i got the Canon 30D, and you all know why. I am so happy :D Esp with the sweet price i got it for after the current Canon rebate promo. It pays off very well when you are kind and polite to CSR's

When i was younger, i was got a hand me down Nikon F2 and as far as i can still clearing remember only taking 5 to 7 different pictures in a roll of 36 and checking off my little clipboard after each shot... and spending all of my expenses on b/w and slides and film.

As i grew older, began to drop off cause the F2 was retired due to old age and couldn't afford a new SLR at that time.

I believe that i have the eye for pictures because there were a couple of instances when the professional that were employed at the events i went to, took my frame after i shot the picture with a point and shoot and showed it to people ;) I hope i still have that eye

Now i'm back again, but this time, with a vengence, because once i get the hang of the 30D, i will be jumping into the ocean and taking underwater pictures

I hope to learn more about the different lens and the kick ass camera that DHL just brought me from everyone here and please feel free to post all kinds of constructive comments on the photos that i will be posting here in the next week or two.

Hi there and welcome to the club. Sounds like you've got a sound pedigree there to work from. Get shooting, post shots and generally join in with the fun here. I expect you've seen from your lurking that we're a pretty friendly bunch.

Enjoy...

hmm yes indeed, this is a very friendly forum.

I will definitely post the nicer pics, once i recieve my lens...

the wait is killing me... camera and CF card, no lens...

I hope i will be re-picking up my skills and polishing them up, because i know a professional photographer, and he's willingly to let me tag along when he has jobs like weddings or studio shoots :D

can't wait, can't wait

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
