Braving the traffic, which was low thankfully ;) I knelt in the opening
and shot the tunnel that comes from the south entrance to the Yosemite park.

Umm..He's Sick, My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious……

Very cool photo, it seems like it was pretty low lit perhaps you had to put IS to good use?

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

It was pretty low light, but the 17-40 doesn't have the IS, would have been
handy for that!

Thanks, it's a very cool place to visit, this isn't your usual shot of Yosemite ;)

Love the picture but sure hope you had someone watching your back, Id hate to be taking that picture based on lite traffic, and knowing me get so absorbed in the shot that I did not hear the car flying at my back. Kudos.

Thanks Win,
And KonTiki, I was really worried about that! as the road behind me was tightly curved and you don't hear cars when they are coming!
But I know when I've traveled through other more heavily traveled tunnels I've always
wanted to get a shot of them but there, I'd no doubt be hit! :)

Here is a parting shot as I was leaving the valley floor;

Nice work, Gary. The first is both creative and well executed. The second is just very, very pretty.

Thanks Stan, I was taken by the way the trees were in stark relief of the sunset
the graduated look of the mountains along the bottom help some as well.
It seemed there were a lot of dead trees there, not burned that I could tell
but just died for some reason.

Gary, those dead trees may be the result of the Bark Beetle. I think they started infesting trees in CA and have worked their into Utah. The pines in the Cedar Breaks area have been devastated.
