Are you looking to get the prime 200/2.8 or a zoom that cover 200 lenght?

The 200/2.8 is a great lens, light weight, fast USM and very sharp.

But if you're looking for the 70-300 range range, then the Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro is a good one. The Canon 70-300 IS is nicer but costs alot more.

70-200 2.8 is what I am looking for, just curious which of the brands is best in that lens, I have the standard canon 70-300 f4 now and I was curious if the Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro is better?

Thanks

You are going to be hard pressed to find a brand X lens that is better than a Canon lens...with the exception of the very bottom of the line. Sigmas sound like demented chainsaws when they focus.
