Most probably brought here by google searches. People search the forum for what they want, and then leave again without needing to post anything. I'd take it as a compliment for our knowledge base....

Yes, Google brought me here by simply typing in 'canon forum' and then hit 'I'm feeling lucky'. I suppose sometimes people just want to find out something specific(like I did) and have no intention of hanging around and then there are those who like what they see and then register(like I did!)

It's not absurd and it's not reflective of this board, but is true of most boards on the web. Look at any posting board at any time of the day and you will find the numbers to be roughly the same proportion, as long as the board allows visitors read access.

That’s how I found the forum. I was trying to find out what an ERR99 was as it was the very first thing my brand new camera displayed. Somehow I believed it didn’t mean “I took the pic, everything is fine” and the manual just said “It’s bad, your screwed but we don’t know why”. I typed in "ERR99 Canon XT" and got this forum. After browsing for a bit, I joined. Now I need the fix daily. I am not sure if that’s good or bad. :) I have learned a tremendous amount on this forum and the exchange of ideas has caused me to dig into some topics I would never have before.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

If a registered member logs out for whatever reason, but continues to explore the forums, is she counted as a "guest"?
