I had a go at shooting some fireworks on bonfire night. But didn't have much joy. the front of my lens kept on misting up. At one point I had water settling on the top of the camera. So I ended up resting a microfibre cloth i had with me on the top of the camera to stop too much water collecting.

Anyway here's a couple of shots I thought I'd share, the first one shows signs of the camera mist, but I love how the tree looks so insignificant.

As always C&C welcome

P.S. I think my cable release earned it's money that night.

Great photos Mistry. I love taking pictures of the fireworks every year on Canada Day where I live. I've had limitied success so far, but I'm getting better. :)

If you don't mind me asking, what settings did you use to capture these shots, and what lens amd camera?

The first one ended up having an interesting effect. Too bad the weather decided to not play nice.

Both shots were 5 seconds exposure at f18 ISO200. first one at 24mm and the second i zoomed from 105mm to about 40mm during the exposure to create that effect.

They were taken using a 30D and 24-105L. But I really could have done with a wide angle.

It was a shame about the weather, but a good learning curve. The fireworks were also an hour late, so the camera was set up waiting in the cold which didn't help.

Thanks for the comments :D
