This is a pano made from six shots.
It's a 180° view from a house I have in the mountains, in a place not far away from Rome. This place, called Campaegli, is the site of many sets of the "Italian spaghetti western" movies from Sergio Leone, with Clint Eastwood and others.
Please let me know what you think of this image, as I am thinking of printing big enough (100 x 25 cm) and hang it somewhere in the same house.
Question to the Pano experts: is the side ratio 4:1 too stretched?
Forgive me for the poor quality of the image: I had to compress 30 Mb below 100 Kb.
Thanks for looking!
Tiziano

Whese does one go to have a picture like this printed, especially in a 4:1 ratio? Is there a good website?

Thanks! I really like it, but, you know, it still could be improved somehow... therefore, better finding it out before printing.

I don't know yet, I'm looking into this. But I'm sure I'll find a place.

Just found a place. It's 200 mt from my house, and it will cost me 15 Euro if I keep it 70 cm wide, of 55 if I need it 1 mt wide.

Not yet, but I guess that, for 15 Euros, I can give it a try! :)

I like the picture. What I would suggest is cropping some of the sky, there appears to some spherical distortion of the clouds at the top of your image. I cropped just the top of your picture to make a 1:5 picture. You have a really nice 1:5 pano for printing, in my opinion. I'll delete the picture if you want me to do so.

Thanks Jeff. I like your edit. In your version, I would only miss the moon. I was afraid that 4:1 was to much, but your version 5:1 still looks nice.

Tiziano,

It is your picture. I have two 1:5 panos that are printed and framed, they are 6" X 30" . What I found a little distracting is the way the clouds are shaped at the top of your 1:4 pano. You could always move the moon dow to be included in the picture if you decide you are happy with the 1:5 crop. PS allows some creativity to shine through.

Could you PP the moon back into the picture? I am not much into that type of editing, but I have seen amazing things on here. I bet it could be done...

Yes, it can be done easily. you have just to select the area with the moon, then copy and past it where you want, blending the borders a little so not to show the borderline. There is actually no limit to the things you can do in PS. Only, some time ago I gave myself some limitations on what I could and could not do in PS to my shots, and this change is out of my boundaries.

If you are going to let self imposed ethics limit your post processing you are not going to have much fun   . I actually do agree with you and won't do certain things in PS. I think you have a great picture to print, regardless of which crop you chose. Let us know what the print looks like.
