Yes, I love everything about it. Feels great on a 350D, one of Canon's sharpest lenses, and for me it makes a great all purpose lens. This and the 85 1.8 are my two favorites.

I don't do that much macro stuff, but when I do, it's excellent. Lots of people like the longer reach of Canon's other macros, but the 60 is fine for me.

The only drawback for me is that I shoot a lot of action stuff indoors in low light and the 60 really isn't fast enough.

It's an outstanding lens (and so are Canon's other macros).

Fabulous lens. Too bad it is an EF-S mount. It honestly have the glass quality of an L lens. I use it a lot to photograph products. Since I'm using a 30D, it gives me the equivalent of a 96mm macro lens. Perfect for portrait as well, it is heavenly sharp at f2.8!

Yeah, it works beautifully as a portrait lens. It's razor sharp, and on a crop camera it's a good length as well. I can't recommend it highly enough.

It's a great macro lens ands also makes a useful portrait length for a crop camera. Personally though I'd prefer the 100mm macro lens - it gives greater working distance from the subject, important with shy creatures like most insects, and being an EF lens will fit ALL of the Eos cameras, not just those that take EF-S lenses.

the draw back to the 100mm lens is that it is perhaps too long for eneral use on a crop camera, so less versatile than the 60mm macro.

You might also want to check out the new sigma 70mm DC macro lens.

its an awesome lens, so sharp- the build quality is amazing its a sturdy compact unit, alot more sturdier than the 50mm1.4
Obv as a macro lens the AF is slower, but i think it is fitting for the purpose it was designed for. Also due to the crop factor its a small unit compared to the 100mm canon macro.
Go into a shop and try it out, you can only read so many reviews before your eyes go numb. One bad point about this lens, it is so sharp it will show every spec of dust on your sensor! I hate cleaning!
