oliton Member 77 posts Joined Oct 2006 More info | Fabulous lens. Too bad it is an EF-S mount. It honestly have the glass quality of an L lens. I use it a lot to photograph products. Since I'm using a 30D, it gives me the equivalent of a 96mm macro lens. Perfect for portrait as well, it is heavenly sharp at f2.8! Always turn your wheel in the direction of the skid

Personally though I'd prefer the 100mm macro lens - it gives greater working distance from the subject, important with shy creatures like most insects, and being an EF lens will fit ALL of the Eos cameras, not just those that take EF-S lenses.
