Coming to Canada for Christmas! Best way to celebrate the season I can think of.

I've always refused to be out of Canada over this season, not just the day. I've missed a few NFL and Bowl games, but nothing I've regretted.

Where will you be? Open to a international meeting if close to some of us?

Maureen, well a better excuse to show up for your sake I have a hard time to find. Thanks for asking about me! :D

Jim & Kev, I'll be flying in to Buffalo on december 15th, cross the border for Port Colborne, Ont, as it's closer than to fly in to Toronto. We will be staying for 3 weeks (leaving on january 5th) and we will *also* go to Toronto once or twice, as I'm going to buy some lenses and pondering about doing that at Vistek (unless I order PST free from Calgary), and Ben also need to go to Toronto to renew his Canadian passport (he does have a Swedish too, but he likes to have both of them updated).

So if all possible it'd be great to meet up. I've been toying with the idea to stay the night, if we can find a decent hotel not too far from the downtown area and not too expensive (if you have suggestions, bring'em on).

Nice to be back, even if I might not be all active the next month or so, but I'll try to make an appearance now and then. Feels like I haven't done any photography, even if I've shot a few weddings and portraits, but no photography for *me*, fun stuff ya know!

Claire, I sure will keep you posted. You'd probably get it hand delivered to GBG as well as I'll probably come down again sometime in the end of january or beginning of february. I'll come down tuesday next week, but then I'll come so late that there's no time to meet in town... unless you come and visit me at the hospital (and meet Jen who's going to show me her lenses and let me try 'em).

Petra: Downtown Toronto and anything is expensive. I would recommend you going a little bit north and staying at a hotel on the subway line. It's far cheaper (i think) and you can access Toronto from the TTC quite easily... =)

Kev, well compared to Swedish prices "expensive" might be "cheap" for us... so could your please pretty please see if you can find out some prices (double room)?

Just for fun, a few years ago we booked a Mini Presidential Suite at the Marriott in Niagara Falls and that price was less than a regular - boring - hotelroom in our local home town. :D

JaG, I might not go *up* the tower as I'm afraid of heights, but I'll definately *look* at it. :D

Nothing to be afraid of. I forgot I was so high when up there actually. My dad has a fear of heights, so as long as we weren't on the glass floor he was good.

You should go to the tower, it's a tourist thing. I have lived in Toronto all my life and only visited the tower a few weeks back. There was a lot of SLR users there, although I doubted some of them, considering they were using flashes to shoot the city through the windows. I am very interested in setting up a 360 degree panorama of the city, but would need to do it with somebody else who is more knowledgable then me (probably you) and is willing to work with me on it. I have the gear (tripod, by the time you come probably an UWA lens, etc.)

JaG, well *if* I dare get up in the tower, I'm game to do a pano... would be fun! I'll post a message when I'll be going to Toronto and we can see if it's workable. I need to figure out what shape I'm in when we land on dec 15th, but my guess is we go before xmas and then also probably afterwards, to see if they have some nice sales.

Toronto is a 4-4.5 hour drive, and I'm on the other side from where your going.

Keep us posted on your schedule and I'll see.

I've already missed one meet-up recently due to work, in Montreal. I'd like to try to meet some other POTN'rs .

Jim, sure will... we'll be 2 hours by car from Toronto, so it's something that needs to be planned anyway. I'll keep you all posted! :D

Yeah, don't be worried about the tower, it's nothing, when you look down on the city it's not scary whatsoever (atleast for me, and I have a little fear of heights.)

As far as sales go, don't get your hopes up. I realise in Sweden things probably aren't price great, but Canada looks like highway-robbery price wise compared to the US. Heck I am trying to have my sister pick me up a 430EX from New York as she is there.
