One of the national free morning papers (similar to Metro) has a photo contest now. Send in the best images you have of any of the three major cities in Sweden (Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö). Every winner per city wins a D80 (yeah I know  Wish it was a Canon).

I uploaded a few shots, among them one I've had in a Texas paper before. Somehow within about 5mins of uploading it got the highest score within the Göteborg section. :D :D

Ok, the deadline isn't until 1 December, so my chances of actually staying up at first place are utterly slim, but let me revel in the joy for another few hours, or days, or...

What's the prize for second place? Two D80s? ;)

Good luck, Claire!

Clair, if that is your shot in the middle, I think you'll be able to brag for quite awhile. Really nice. Congrats!

Yep, my canal shot in the middle. To view other shots click "Titta pa bilder", think 3rd on the menu. You can see all images or select the images by city.

The gallery sucks btw. Very annoying layout that you can't see the latest uploaded shots. Neither do you get good overview of all shots in the contest.

D80 is an awesome camera =) Good luck! But since people here are already so integrated with the Canon system, no point jumping ship now... even for a nice camera like the D80. Sell it on Nikonians! =)

How do we vote? I am from Chicago, I should be good for at least 10 votes...

I'll swap my 30D for the D80 if you win ;-)a I'll vote for you. I'm sure it'll be the shot where the feet are cut off :-)

Woot, I'm already pushed away? *bawls*

What pic is there now?

You have to enter the contest to be able to vote. I'm gonna hunt down more pics I have, but don't think I got that many nice ones. Many shots entered are night & moody winter shots.

You've been beaten by some crappy firework shot;) (ok its quite nice!)

hang on... just checked again and their are loads of photos now in front! Not sure i understand the site, i guess 'Poäng' is the score you've been given, out of 5?

Yeah, that's the score. think it's out of 10. I've been refreshing the page and that fireworks shot was the top one for aaaaages before (the other day. Then after that tonight it became a nice other type shot, now it's a closeup of a statue that's known. I don't like the shot, but the idea is fun.

Damn, I have to find my CDs with more Gothenburg pics. Think I got a few Stockholm ones as well!!
