Welcome to POTN!!!

Your shots have nice composition, but could use some Post Processing...

Shot 1 for instance, has a blown-out bagkground around her head. Levels adjustment in Adobe Photoshop could yeild better overall results. (slightly darker to accentuate her facial features)

Shot 2 is great, but a little too dark. You want your subject to be well lit, so when shooting in the shade, try to adjust the camera settings to allow enough light to hit the subject. Also i would personally watch out for things like the gate to the left, it takes a little focus off the overall shot.

Not bad though!! What camera and accessories are you working with??

He still has one more move.

Thanks for the advice! I just tried to adjust them in Photoshop, but I'm not real good with that yet! I am using a Canon XTi with an 85mm f1.2.

Great first post, I think :).

#1 the girl looks great in your edit. I would prefer if she wasn't in the center of the frame with the tree directly behind her. The picture looks really clean and crisp.

#2 I love the pose! Very cute and relaxed. But stuff at the top and bottom of the picture is distracting to me. You don't have your 'picture editing ok' sign on, but on my computer, it looks better with the top and bottom cut off.

Welcome to POTN, jamner!

I agree with SkWeEkiE and isis about both the pics.

#1 I find the tree trunk jutting out over the subject's head somewhat disturbing. It smudges out the outline of the head. I would probably have made the subject sit a little to the left, with the trunk partially visible along the girl's arm. I feel that would have provided better color balance and blocked out a major part of the glaring background.

#2 It improved a lot after the edit. Good going!

Welcome. Watch your backgrounds, trees sprouting from models heads is not good.
