hey guys

whats the typical turnover time you have experienced with Canon?

I sent my XTi to Canon(calgary alberta canada) and they had received it on monday the 6th of November

Called them today and it's still not entered in their system!

Needless to say I am very pissed off....

something tells me they will have my camera longer than I have owned it.

This is probably a worst case scenario, but earlier this year around April, I sent in my first XT for a flash malfunction. It took about two months, and then they finally sent me a new XT, when I started to get on their case a little more.

its not the 3 days that makes me furious, its the fact I had to send it in after only 33 days of owning it.

they said I would get a call early next week, which means 1 week for an estimate and 2 weeks for repair is my guess. and 1 week to shiop it back. 5 weeks total.

if they decide to take that long I will be angry and will demand they get it back to me sooner. or replace it.

not only was my camera backfocussing, but the kit lens was noticeably softer on the right side of the image and the left side was fine. I totally got a lemon. I will also be talking to them about underexposure when I get the camera back.

You live 300km from Calgary. How are they shipping it that it will take one week? They could probably slide it up the highway 2 this time of year.

I hope it works out for you. That is the worst feeling when you do not know what is going on with your gear. I just lent my camera out to a good friend that was interested in buying it and I felt like I had given a child up for adoption. Good luck!
