I find myself becoming more and more fascinated by low-light photography. A quick scout around on this forum and the internet has revealed some stunning images, some of which have been taken in almost total darkness. I must say, I'm starting to develop a soft spot for those beautiful pastel colours and dreamy skies created by long exposures.

So please use this thread to post your favourite low-light image and perhaps a little background as to how you captured it :D

I hope that this will appeal to you as a low light shot?

I was out for a stroll with a friend one night and I saw these geese kind of come out of nowhere!

I really had to time to prepare for the shot as I had not even turned my camera on. So this is the result of a quick power on, point and shoot! Did not even get to check what settings I was using etc. I thought the final result was interesting, even if on the dark side.

Wow, this has kicked off to a good start, lovely images!

Canonadian I love your shot, looks as though it's one bird shot at different points of the wing stroke. Amazing how you managed to avoid any blur with such little light.

Stav, it's number 2 for me too! :D
