Thanks Marie and Athena. I also agree that a blurred foreground usually doesn't work for some images... but this one it didn't seem to bother me as much either. Perhaps it is what Athena said, in it leads you to the star of the image - my 6 year old's delight. Couple of DSLRs, number of lenses and other stuff... plenty short on talent.
