What is your favorite RAW image converter? If it is not listed here, then add it below...

Feel free to include comments on why this is your favorite converter.

Greetings,

Is this different from Canon's File Viewer Utility?

Canon Raw Image Converter is the previous software version of the File Viewer Utility. RIC doesn't support the latest Canon cameras.
The same view like the File Viewer Utility, however it seems that FVU does not support automatic batch mode of Canon Raw Image Viewer (just selecting the raw images in File Explorer and Enter/or Right mouse click -> Open/ and then choose Convert and Save by current settings). This mode is very usefull for batch raw conversion of many raw images, pretty fast and stable. It doesn't need Canon ZoomBrowser.
Greetings,
Roumen

I voted for BreezeBrowser but if I may add another good one but sadly is discontinued in development:

YarcPlus (from the same makers of Capture One)

In my case (Gentoo GNU/Linux (external link)), I use dcraw to convert to ppm. At the moment I have a little perl script that will mount my usb drive, suck off all the raw photos, running them through the dcraw converter, and drop them into a "working" directory. It also takes the raw images, and copies them off to an "archive" directory, incase I want to convert them with different white-blances, gamma-correction, etc. Then later I visit the "working" directory, and see how many of my shots were so horrible that they must be deleted immediately! *grin*

Almost forgot the link => http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ (external link)

C1Rebel + BreezeBrowser

I've voted C1 (because I've been using my dRebel more than my S50 lately), but of course my favorite converter for the S50 (and some high ISO rebel shots) is BreezeBrowser, mostly because S50 isn't supported by C1 and some too agressive noise reduction algotythm in C1 in high ISO settings.

I also voted for capture one, it is a very good, complete package. Just a shame it works only on my 10D files, I use breezebrowser for my G5 shots but find the raw conversion clunky at best.

If in doubt, I shut up...

I alternate between DPP and RSP. I also like C1 (similar workflow to RSP) but the price is prety extreme.

I use RAWshooter essentials - I like it well enough and best of all it was free.

I still prefer large JPEG though....

Mine is DPP hands down. I didn't shoot RAW very often before discovering DPP. Now, my 10D is in RAW mode all the time.
