My first self portrait. And I bet you can't guess how I lit it.

What do you think?

I may have overdone the sharpening after I resized it for posting. But I kinda liked the extra crispy look :)

self potrait??? I love photography because I never have to be in any of the photos and you go take photo's of yourself... seems rather strange not the sort of thing I would do but apart from that its pretty cool, don't really like the sketch version though

Thanks, Nathan. You've never tried a self portrait? I thought most people had. I found that, if nothing else, it tests your patience.
I did it because I wanted a shot of me for a future website.

Nope.

Ha, funny guess but no. I wouldn't have been too popular standing there with the fridge door open for as long as it took me to get this shot :)

Do you mean as the car is driving by? Because that would be impressive and I'm not that patient.
And as for firecrackers, I'd have a distinct look of 'I just soiled myself' if they were going off nearby.

The blinds are behind me in the picture and they're closed.
Waterbuffalo on fire! No, they certainly provide a warm light source but they simply refuse to stand still when I need them to.
