I have a student coming out for private lessons next week with her new lens, a 28-135 IS. She said "As per your suggestion I got this one." Hmmm, my suggestion was to get something better than what she has now, not that particular lens. Guess I'll cross my fingers and hope she is happy with it so I don't have to tell her she maybe should have gotten something better. GEAR LIST

SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Nov 10, 2006 14:09 | #14 I used my 28-135 for over a year before getting the L lenses and the 20D. It is capable and wonderful for stretch, zoom is really useful, but I found that the 24-70 was much sharper. I am also liking my primes more for the sharpness. For the money, though the 70-200 f4 is a bargain. L quality at a decent price. I love mine. If you really want to make a comparison, find a 24-70L to rent. You'll see a big difference. The reach isn't as far, but the lens is much nicer for color, IMO. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!
