I took this pic last weekend just as the sun broke through on the trees behind the boats. I under - exposed a bit to try and bring out the light on the trees. I've done some PP on it and added a slight Gausian blur to try and see if it gives it a dreamy feel. Not sure if its worked, but thats one of the reasons I'm posting it so Constructive criticism is welcomed!!;)

It's nice and gentle and the effect of the blur has worked but it isn't effective enough in my opinion. I would also hazard a guess that a crop to remove some of the dead space to the right would help the image.

You would probably be better off and get a bigger response by asking one of the Mod's to move it to the Critique Forum.

I quite like this. Another aproach to the subject might be to iden the shot out a bit more and place the boats in a corner, probably the lower right.

I've had to come back to this image as it does have a lot of potential and as Lester stated it just needs another approach. Your profile states that you don't mind image editing so I've taken the liberty of working on your image. However, if you want them removed just send me a PM.

Here's a straight crop of your image and a little contrast masking to bring out some of the shadows.

This one is what it looks like with the Buzz plugin applied to it, giving a arty feel to it.

There are another two images which I've done... here (external link) and here (external link) which are variations on the same art theme.

Thats great Meerkat. I think the plugin works well. I really like the xhatch version though. I've never really used the sketch tools in photoshop but am going to look into it now!. Thanks again for your comments and any image editing on my pics is fine!

I really prefer the first. Meerkat's first change is more realistic but I like the feel of the darker picture. The boats are almost too bright against the dark water though. Lovely shot all in all. Be a cool poster!
