at least new to me. The following three images were taken just to try out something, the only post processing done was removal of dust spot, and unsharp mask. Otherwise, these are straight out of the camera, taken with 350D and Tokina 28-70mm lens, and a polarizer. The first two were taken between 11am-3pm. I know they are not great shots, it's the colour and tones that I am concerned about.

I love the 1st and 3rd images, very nice! :D :D

I'm not so crazy about the second, it has a strange magenta cast

OK, thanks, I didn't notice that, so I must look out for that and use levels. Why I asked about this is because I just forked out an arm and a leg for Singh-Ray gold 'n' blue polarizer, and I want to make sure I'm using it properly.

That was my exact thought. That first one is really beautiful!

# 1 has very nice colours , not much of a subject though as you know.

# 2 i would go for a tighter crop (see my example) but it also had a magenta colour cast on it Ann.

# 3 now...that picture requires a portrait orientation,as there is nothing special in the bg (mountains etc) but only buildings, and give more emphasis on something in the fg,and as i can see , there is plenty of things going on there in front of you, here is another example.
The colours of the 3rd one of cours are great.

Ann, I think # and 2 are wonderful. I notice the color balance too, but to me it works nicely...very rich in colour. Thats just my opinion though. I also think the pp is nice as well esp on #3.

Thanks, I know this filter can be easily over used and it is a bit of a learning process. For what it cost me, I'm sure going to practice, practice, practice! It was $190, but then the joy of living in the Bahamas has to be factored in - postage $25, customs duty on postage and filter @35% + 8% stamp duty = $76 = total of $295. More than the lens it is attached to!
