You think it would be good for me to get one of these lenses rather than the high priced canon or sigma lenses?

pretty good selection if you ask me

You have two fine Canon cameras. I can't see using a low priced, low quality lens on such good cameras. The Canon EF50 f/2.5 compact macro lens would be a great start if you're on a budget. Around $250 US

Those things are pretty weak. Now if they had made them with white plastic and put a red ring around them they would have been amazing.

Still, at least it saves me trying to duct tape my old 50 1.8 FD on to my cameraphone.
