took this shot about 3 weeks ago in the Mt. Baker National Forest, near the border between Washington and British Columbia, about 60 miles east of Bellingham, WA. The mountain is Mt. Shuksan, one of the most photographed mountains in the US (for obvious reasons!). the weather cooperated, and there was no wind to speak of, so Picture Lake was dead calm, and offered a very nice reflection... shot with a 30D and Tamron 24-135 lens.

Incredible! And you were so lucky to get it on a clear day too!

That's really the name of the lake? Picture Lake??? :D

Yep... they named it that because so many people shoot photos of the reflection in it. there's a similar lake near Mt. Rainier called "Reflection Lake", for the same reason.

Reflection, thy name is Serenity.

Although this has likely been shot a zillion times before, I'd hazard a guess that this is the definitive shot.

Wow!!

An amazing shot, perfect reflections and well exposed.
I have only a minor niggle. It might have been better not to frame it cutting a tree in half on the left hand side, either crop before it or add it in fully. Thats just my opinon of course:D

Awesome, Rocky. That's a very sharp image and I can't really add anything that hasn't already been said.
