I just sold my 1vHS a few months ago. IMO, best 35mm ever made. I loved that camera. Did not use it for over a year. You have to move on. I'm not a collector.

I haven't shot a roll of film in over 2 years, though I have a few rolls in the freezer and a couple of film cameras. I just don't have any interest in film any more. Tom

Very true - I'm not sure how much more time has to pass before I admit to myself that I no longer shoot film - the last roll was August 05....and the prints came back all grotty and spattered, like the machine they used hadn't been cleaned in a while...yuk. by contast, digital prints I had made at the same time in the same shop were perfect. If you are going to shoot film you are better off getting a larger format negative to do it with. I walk around with my XTi and click away till i find that one awesome shot, then bust out the Medium Format camera. From my experience 35mm isnt much nicer than the SLR digitals so it is a waste to hassle with all the negatives of film to get a maybe slightly nicer shot. Medium or large format is the way to go if you want beautiful shots from film, and used you can get it for about the same.

On occasion I will load up the Canon A-1 as I still have a whack of FD glass. My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I got my first digital camera, a D60 in July 2002. I have kept my EOS 3 and even keep some full frame lenses such as the 17-40 just in case I want to use it. I have several cartons of Provia F100 and F400 and Velvia in the freezer downstairs.

I haven't shot much with it, but I sure am collecting a bunch of stuff. I liked the feel of the A-1 and 50mm f1.8 so much that I dropped some money on a broken F-1 figuring that I could get it fixed, or just have something nice to sit on the shelf. Bad idea... It came in the original box, and was so nice that since then I have bought a FD zoom (w/original box) and the FD 50mm Macro and Lifesize Converter.

I haven't shot any B&W for years (at least 20) and also picked up some darkroom stuff for about 1/10th the price it would have cost me 2 years ago. I can now develop B&W at home and get the 'good' frames scanned. Get the best of both worlds. Not to mention it's awfully difficult to find a place to process TMAX now that digital has taken over.
