I thought it was time. Seven weeks until the holiday. What are you getting as far as the "big gift" for yourself and what is the biggest gift you are getting for someone else? (Doesn't have to be camera gear, but this is a photography forum)

I'll start. I'm hoping to get the 5D for myself (of course) :o:lol:, and my sons are getting a new Yamaha piano keyboard that has weighted hammer action for practicing. They are very musical and already have too many toys. I also bought a A530 for them to share with a 256 SD card.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.

Great gift for new family members coming. I don't regret taking a single picture of my 4 sons. Still going. That's how I got into the hobby. Good choices, Trent.

As an early Christmas gift (for a job really, but it's the right season) I'll be buying a used 20D with grip for backup camera use. I'll probably get a second flash unit from my parents/other relatives.

Working on getting myself a 1DMkIIN for christmas. I have to admit, though, that I'm intensely concentrating on two 300 2.8's. Not to own both, and neither are the IS version, but I'll give up IS to save $2k. Other than that? 85L, and possibly a brick. You know what I mean. ;-)a

Thanks for reminding me. Another one of those, too. B800, I think. 1600 is just way more power than I need.

No fun photography prezzies for Nitsch this year! :-(

We're asking everyone for nursery/baby stuff ready for the impending arrival of Mini Nitsch in March next year! :D

Yup. In my family we decided to quit giving christmas gifts many years ago. No kids so thats easy. We just give birthday gifts instead.

It is so nice to relax when everybody else stress through december hunting for gifts. Besides it is better to wait until january to buy what you want when everything is going on sale.

I have no idea what I am getting for my wife. I am also not getting myself anything. I did however ask for an AB package, a flash bracket for macro work, a Wacom tablet, new bag, and some other stuff. Don't know what I will get but it should be good. That said, our little girl gets the gifts first and foremost so maybe just wishful thinking on my part.
