- new tri-pod
- 2nd 580ex
- 2, 8gb cf cards
- also on my mind, studio lighting equipment. 1-3 are reaasonable. four might be tough. A distant 5 is the 5D.

What fun would that be? I don't rely on my gear, and I like "trying new things", so why not have a little fun with it? It keeps its value, and I keep content. I don't know why so many others are afraid to let anything go. No one's got the "one special copy" of a lens or anything. Tell me you don't want anything else, guys. Go ahead..tell me. ;-)a I've never owned an N. I've never owned an 85L. Never had a lot of things, and I want to try them. I won't lie and say I could afford them all. Doesn't mean I can't "rearrange" my collection and have some fun, though.

To each their own.

that is a good point and as long as you are happy....

btw, you need to update your signature and remove the 17-40 and make room for the 24-70L #125464

well ofcourse I want more gear.. I have a few purchases up my sleeve that i've made public.. But, I'm content to wait until I have cash in hand and not skimp on groceries at the same time.. I'm just teasing you Ron... don't take it personally and I am sorry for calling you Canon's used car salesman... I thought it was funny... really, I did. and hey, if I were in your shoes I would love to own a 1D (either version).. well, maybe not I like the 5D.. my hands are on the tiny side.. and your hobby of buying and selling gear is fun to watch.. and I do believe it come secondary to your hobby of shooting... so, what makes each of us happy... hey, I have a ridiculous collection of vinyl records.. who am I to judge?...;) ;) ;)

I agree - I'd like a "super-5D" with more fps, f/8 AF and more AF points. I don't particularly like the extra bulk of the 1-series when I'm packing for travel and having a common battery size is definitely a plus even if you do carry dual chargers. The BP-511 onews are so small tit's not bad.

I would say EOS 3D  but that would bring CDS running

(the comparison is not as farfetched.. the EOS 3 had the PB-E2 as optional accessory, hence the 'no grip' thing I mentioned, 2CR5 batteries on board, 45pt AF..)

Please put sequence number in front of 24-70 to denote version. ;)

Rearranging the collection is actually a practical way. I did that for another hobby too.

I'm happy to say I'm getting myself the 70-200/2.8L IS USM *and* either the 24-70/2.8L or the 24-105 or the 17-55 (can't make up my mind on those three). I've earned them!

Petra, good to see you are still around. Did you shoot a lot of weddings lately to get the money for those new lenses? I'm poor again, and still, very happy. :)

Suzy, I wish it was the weddings that paid for the lenses, but not really... well some of it, as the house needed a few things too, so the money I've made has been poured into the house. The book translation I'm doing now is going to pay for one lens at least... hubby is complaining but I don't care, he's my assistant so he has no say in things. :D

OK, that rules out 24-70 on my list... so now it's down to the 24-105 or the 17-50. Thanks Ronald. ;)
