I am very tempeted by the 300mm f2.8 for sale in the classified section the question is should i go for the 300 or the 70-200 f 2.8 i shoot manily motorsports

say what you feel

p.s example photos from both lense would be apprecated

Well, the 300 is going to be better range wise for motorsports and it takes a TC very well.

I agree with Mr. Clean about the 300. The 70-200 can auto focus with the EF 1.4 TC. There might be times where you're closer to the cars (pits, etc.) and you might want to zoom out. That would come in handy.

My next lens will be the 300 f2.8 only because I am too impatient to wait untill I have saved enough money to buy the 500 f4. Both are good for motorsports. (Or birding in my case.) Two bodies, 70-200 on one, big prime on the other is the way to go, if you can spend the dough.

Get both. But in terms of priorities, the 300 would be the better first choice. Both lens are top notch though.
