We have had about a foot of snow in the last two days I decided to take myself on a drive to look around.. it sure does look different with the layer of white all around.. Right now i'm loving it but i'm sure I'll be sick of it in a few weeks...

not really.. contrast was boosted a bit.. but for the most part that's just what they look like... there kind of neat everything goes white and brown except these bright red trees..

here's a shot from last year.. I went back to that spot by the lake today but there wasn't enough snow to make it interesting..

LOL... it's also wet and cold makes everything dirty and driving difficult.. But, so far I just think it's fun and i'm having a great time.... we'll see how I feel when there's eight feet of it next month..

Well there you go! I've only seen snow twice in my life (and one of those times I got "yellow snow" on my shoes). I suppose it could become a bother.

Nice captures Sari. Glad to see you back here in the travel & Landscapes forum.

So far, no snow on the round here in the valley, but we can finally see it up on Bogus Basin. The news is saying that you should get quite a bit more snow in McCall from the storms coming through this week. We like to see the snow, but like you, we don't especially like to drive in it here in the valley. Too many of our fellow drivers don't know how to drive in snowy or icey conditions, and it seems like we are always dodging someone who is driving way too fast for conditions and has found difficulty controlling their vehicle because of it.

thanks. I plan on spending some more time here.. all of my portrait subjects aren't here.. :( :( .. and I hate driving in the snow. I just never think it's worth the trouble.. and we had atleast a foot dropped on us last night... it's crazy I need a broom to clean my car off.. but, it's almost more beautiful with the snow as without..

I know.. i'm not even sure what they're called but I see them everywhere.. but, the tamarack in the fall is just as surreal looking.. everything turns the most vibrant yellow and orange you've ever seen...

So that's what snow looks like. We get a few flakes once every five years or so. Mostly we just get brown grass and bare trees :(
