I was out between showers this morning trying to get comfortable with the 2X teleconverter on the Bigma. (Still have a loooong ways to go!)

Anyway, I was taking some shots of this egret when the GBH landed. Turns out I focused pretty well on the GBH and missed the Egret. The DOF at 1000mm and a really cloudy day is a real challenge for me. Any suggestions would be very much welcomed.

It's not a great shot, but I thought it was pretty funny.

This is another GBH several yards from the first one:

It appears that the mallard is telling the GBH "I will take the Rolex on the right"

The second one looks sharp enough to crop it some more. That's pretty good.

Put this down to selective focusing Turnerzdad on the first shot, because the main subject is the GBH just landed. With this shot you have picked up a perfect title, the GBH flashes the mallard and it looks like the Mallard is in full protest at the obscene pose by the Heron. Well done.
