the weather was lousy....but there was the odd break in the clouds.....
I got a few shots that I quite like
as some of you will know I'm new to this landscape lark :)
so any helpfull critisism is greatly appreciated.

I've seen that filter used to great success...but it's very limiting. I think you need a clear sky to really make it work well.

I like #2, as the dam structure is really intriguing to me.

You look like you caught the odd lucky break Alan, and I like the lead-ins of your second shot.

Alan,

Much better than mine. Love #1 and #2. As a structural engineer I have a thing for old structures. I'm not sure about #3. Not sure about the mix of tobacco sky and effect of slow shutter speed on the water, but then again the weather light was not good (extreme understatement).

I'm going to have another look through my own but ......

JT - this is an old Victoria dam built to provide water to Glasgow (over 40km away) in 1859. The water is carried from Loch Katrine to Glasgow by two large aqueduct and pipes. Still supplies about 60% of Glasgow's water needs to this day.

Curious, what would someone use a tobacco filter for other than experimental? How is it intended to be used?

Neat shots Alan :)

The perspective in the 2nd shot makes it my favourite mate.

Second is the best landscape photo but the first would find a place on my wall - very restful. :)
