I finally got my Bigma last night after it was too dark to use it, but I did get a chance to play with it today. It sure is heavy. I tried it hand held today as my tripod doesn't come till Monday, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Here's a pic of the Bigma on my 20D. Now I need to find some ducks:lol:

. Here's a pic of the Bigma on my 20D.

From where I'm sitting it looks more like a 20D on a Bigma;) Congradulations and good luck with it.

I wanted to see just how much reach this thing would give me, so I took a shot at 50mm and then one at 500mm. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The second shot is blurry as it was hand held, my tripod doesn't come till Monday.

That is soo cool I hope you enjoy that lens I'm still wedged in a state of decision between the bigma and the 100-400IS for Christmas this year

Mike, this is the same dilemna I was facing. What swayed me was the extra 100mm and the $300-400 less for the Bigma. IS would be nice but I didn't want to sacrifice reach for it. I had my daughter and her friends out sledding today and the shots of them sledding down the hill came out really well, even hand held. The first pic is my daughter at 500mm, hand held, the second is one of her friends 416mm hand held.

I wasn't all to thrilled with snow either. Tuesday we had a record high of 80 then Friday we got snow all day long. This morning it was 10. You just got to love Iowa weather.

I want snow so I can get some cute teenage girls to play together in it for a shoot. :)

The problem with snow is it stays too long and its way too cold, and I hate being cold.

I agree on that. If only I could summon it as needed...
