I'm starting to get excited about primes, just having aquired the 30mm Sigma lens and been wowed by it, so I'll be looking for more. I'm not that keen on 50mm for a crop camera so will be looking at the 85 1.8

the only iffy thing I've seen posted about this lens is that it might be a bit long on a crop camera.

I used my 85MM f/1.8 yestersday to make a portfolio of personal, home, and local area photos for a couple who needed them for an adoption application. Got stunning results using the fall leaves as a back drop. This lens is tops

I paired the 85MM with my 17-55 EF-S IS and put together a portfolio that the couple was delighted with As I have said before on this forum...who needs "L" glass?

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!
