Hi everyone,

I just recently purchased the 430ex and knew that this had the new auto zoom coverage compensation for 1.6x crop which the 420ex didn't have, but the icon doesn't show up on my 300D. Is it not one of the compatible cameras?

Thanks!

As I recall, the 20D was the first camera to be compatible with this particular feature of the newer Speedlites.

I wouldn't sweat it, though. In autozoom, it will just cover more area than needed. If you're pushing the limits of your power you can zoom manually to get a bit more reach from the flash.

Right - the 300D is too early a model for that.
