I can't make my mind up wether I like these or not.

What do you guys think?

Are they worth doing more with?

Technical perfection is only ever important if it improves the asthetic. It is not the precursor to beauty. Not in art..not in music and not in photography!

Of the two I prefer the second, the first one lacks a subject. In the second one the tree draws my eye to it.

The first one would look nicer if you were to crop the picture so that it focused more on the trees and the mist. Very good start, and is a good subject to play around with if you get more opertunities like this.

The first makes a nice pano with the top cut off at the cloud line.

I love the second one too but I would like to see more of the foreground in it (to emphasise more the foreground/cloud/mountain-in-the-background thing you've got going). So in that respect I prefer the first one... But I agree that the dead tree adds to the composition...

maybe if you exposed for the sky and threw the foreground into sillouette.

Montreal: When I brought out the detail at the front that reddish plant at the front becomes bright red and really distracts :)

Snappy: I did try that but as you drop the exposure or even the levels the trees to the left start to disappear :(

What I meant was that I would have framed the shot differently, to include more of the foreground.

:)

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
