any comments would be very appreciated. I am very new to HDR and this is my first go at it, so i could really use some tips. I have used 1 RAW image and then saved them as -2, 0, +2 exposures and merged them in photomatix.

thanks for watching!

I like the second and third one. I have never had the desired results doing that method. Nice work.

I also had the same problem when i tried HDR in photoshop, but photomatix is just soo much better. after the conversion the image looks very bad but after tone mapping it looks awesome. heres another shot...

in this shot i have also used a cokin ND8 (3 stops) filter.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder what the point of that is?

Also, when I save the final image as a jpg, it saves it at 1 dpi. How the hell do you change that? (I looked through the preferences and saw nothing that would). I now save them as TIFFs, which saves them at the dpi that I originally converted the RAW file to. However, I'd still like to know what the deal is with the 1 dpi conversion. Hmmm...

By the way, nice pics. :D

Very well done :) You have the dreaded "haloing" in the 4th shot you posted, but they all look great to me :)

Some great work LS. The 4th is great, I can't see the halo. My problem is the whites are very difficult to keep white. Thanks for your help and serial.

Good compositions, but I don't think HDR has done you any favours, there is a general softness, and bad red fringeing on the last image.
If you had processed these in a more conventional manner, then they would sing.

I think hdr's are fun and while in someway can give a slightly unrealistic final image on occassions, they have a quality I feel is very difficult to achieve through typical photoshop techniques.
I like the effect and use It quite a bit, Its quick and easy but only works with certain Images and can look awful with others, I think you've done a good job with these and produced striking Images, well done.
